British Craft Trade Fair (BCTF) is going to be held for three days in April 2009 in the UK town of Harrogate. It represents the very best British makers, where buyers and exhibitors alike are inspired by quality, originality and variety of products. Buyers include galleries, heritage outlets, garden centers, department stores, interior design practices and independent retailers. The fair attracts every year around 4,000 of the UK's top buyers over and more than 500 exhibitors.
158,000 people live in Harrogate which is located about 10 miles away from Leeds. It is most famous as a prestigious destination for spa tourism. Harrogate was the winner of the 2003 Britain in Bloom in the category of 'Large Town'. Its healing waters and beautiful gardens attract many visitors all year round with hotels built to cater primarily to them. However, they provide convenient base for stay for trade fair attendees who have the choice to stay at a place that fits both their budget and their housing requirements. Guesthouses are the primary choice for business travelers who need to reduce their costs and require something cheap, yet comfortable with breakfast included in the rate. Those requesting greater comfort may opt for a standard three star hotel with prices ranging from 60 to 120 GBP a night, depending on the location and the facilities. Hotels at a walking distance to the exhibition halls and the railway station usually cost more. Rooms do become sold out in February, so the best way to make sure the more suitable options won't slip is to arrange lodging as soon as exhibition space is reserved.
