The 2009 Milan edition of Mido - International Optics, Optometry and Ophthalmology Exhibition - will be held earlier than usual, for stree days, starting on March 6 and closing on March 9. This is planned out at the "world's fashion accessory week" as Milan's Rho Pero pavilions will host 4 events showcasing the finest Italian and worldwide production: Mido as well as the international exhibitions of footwear, leather goods and fur, creating a unique chance to join fashion, design, innovation and technology.
While there are no special events going on in the city, accommodation is easy to arrange at low prices. A single room with breakfast at a centrally located hotel may cost no more than 60-70 EUR per night. However, this is not the case when MIDO, MICAM and MIFUR are held together with MIDO , the latter expected to attract over 46,000 visitors from more than 130 countries. The same budget hotels which could be easily booked for well under 100 EUR a night now cost several times more to book, with a very realistic 250-300 EUR per night average for a centrally-located three-star hotel. Accommodation close to the Fiera Milano City , the Duomo or the central station can be especially costly due to its strategic proximity to important public transport links. Anything under 250 EUR is already considered a discounted rate and quite difficult to arrange. All exhibitors and visitors who have not made reservations are encouraged to explore their options before Christmas 2008 in order to be able to secure lodging, while such is still available, regardless of the price.
