12 Nov 2008: MACEF - The International Home Show

After the closing of the Fiera Milano City exhibition centre, the new Rho-Pero centre became the primary venue for all big events in Milan . Most major exhibitions relocated, including the international home show MACEF, held twice a year in Milan. It is both a point of reference and an opportunity to keep abreast of developments for all those in the sector, whether they are manufacturers, part of the distribution chain or are from the design community. Exhibitors specialize in the fields of decoration, home and office design, furniture, lightning, fabrics, handicraft products, gifts and souvenirs, kitchen and bathroom accessories and many more.

Although the new exhibition centre is located outside the city limits, it is very easily accessible by means of metro. The red line connects the east part of Milan with the city centre and the old fair and reaches the Fiera Milano. The organizers as well as many hotels offer shuttle service to the fairgrounds. Thus, all attendees preferring to stay in the city centre can do so and travel very easily to MACEF exhibition. Hotels close to the Duomo or the Fiera Milano City are particularly popular because of their perfect location near interesting sights, dining and shopping and still within half an hour travelling with the metro. However, visitors and exhibitors must be aware that the frequently requested options, especially at good prices, are sold out first and those with budget of 170 EUR a night or less should make a hotel reservation as soon as possible to avoid the dramatic increase in rates expected shortly before Christmas.
